From July 4th to 6th, the 2025 Xiaomi China Endurance Championship Ningbo Station concluded. Xi'an Carman Racing, competing in the National Cup 1600 class with two Honda Fit GR9s, demonstrated strong competitiveness over both rounds of the race weekend. The #666 team of Zhang Yu/Hao Hua/Chen Xiaolong dominated the first race to win their class, and then maintained a solid performance in the second, securing second place.
The #999 team of Ma Yuzhong/Tian Liang/Wang Baohua/Wu Nan also performed well, finishing at the top of their class for two consecutive rounds and earning a significant number of championship points.
Round 1: Excellent Performance, Victory in Chaotic Times
During Friday's qualifying session, the Xi'an Carman Racing #666 team displayed their ultimate competitive form. Within the limited qualifying time, Zhang Yu/Hao Hua/Chen Xiaolong consistently achieved highly competitive lap times, finishing second in the 1600 class with a team-best lap time of 2:06.400. Ma Yuzhong/Tian Liang/Wang Baohua/Wu Nan in car #999 clocked a lap time of 2:09.406, placing them fifth in the class.
On Saturday, the first round of the Ningbo Grand Prix kicked off. Car #666 maintained a steady start, maintaining its position in the group while closely following its competitors, waiting for an opportunity to overtake.
Following the race, the Safety Car was deployed several times due to track unpredictability, allowing car #666 to close the gap to the car ahead. Later in the race, Zhang Yu/Hao Hua/Chen Xiaolong rode a steady pace to take the lead in their class, maintaining their advantage until the checkered flag, securing victory in the 1600 class.
Car #999: Ma Yuzhong/Tian Liang/Wang Baohua/Wu Nan performed steadily throughout, finishing fourth in the 1600 class with 54 laps.
After the race, Zhang Yu said: "I was the starting driver for the team today, and I performed well at the start. Since the drivers in the 1600 class were very strong, we chose to drive at a relatively steady pace. This was my first time racing at Ningbo International Circuit, and the temperature was very high. The safety car helped us secure a good position later, and the car remained stable, ultimately leading to the victory."
Hao Hua summarized the first round: "It's been a while since I've raced in Ningbo, so it's still a bit unfamiliar. Winning the first round is quite unexpected. I'm very grateful to my two teammates, and I also want to express my gratitude to every member of the team."
Round 2: Continuing the form, another podium
On Sunday, the second round of the Ningbo Grand Prix kicked off. Thanks to their victory in the first round, the Xi'an Carman Racing #666 car will start from pole position. From the start, Zhang Yu/Hao Hua/Chen Xiaolong continued their excellent driving form, maintaining a steady lead in their class. As the race progressed, affected by the high temperatures, car #666 slowed down its pace and dropped to second place in its class.
Towards the end of the race, car #666 faced a fierce attack from its competitors. However, thanks to the outstanding defensive skills of Zhang Yu/Hao Hua/Chen Xiaolong, the team finished second in the 1600 class, securing their second consecutive podium finish.
The #999 team continued their excellent consistency in the second round of the race. Ma Yuzhong/Tian Liang/Wang Baohua/Wu Nan once again finished fourth, earning a substantial championship point.
Zhang Yu reflected after the race: "I was driving the second leg today. I drove for quite a while, and the high temperatures also took a lot of energy. In the final stages of the race, I was constantly engaged in a battle of attack and defense with the cars behind me. Ultimately, I managed to withstand the pressure and take second place. I think today's race was also very exciting."
