On October 7th, the 2025 Shanghai 8 Hours Endurance Race officially kicked off with a thrilling qualifying race. Uno Racing Team drivers Pan Junlin, Wang Yibo, Rio, and Sérgio Sette Câmara, driving the No. 85 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II, secured a commanding victory overall and second place in the GT3 PA class, securing the front row of the grid for the Shanghai 8 Hours race!

As a flagship event representing Shanghai's speed, this year's Shanghai 8 Hours Endurance Race attracted 25 entries, including a throng of GT experts from both China and abroad. Due to the weather, the race was held in high temperatures from the pre-race testing phase onward, placing even higher demands on the drivers' fitness and car stability. Undeterred by the challenges, the Uno Racing Team gave their all in testing and qualifying, striving for a strong start to this endurance race.

During the pre-race test session, the No. 85 car secured three consecutive top-three finishes in the GT3 PA class, steadily increasing its fastest lap time. In the two free practice sessions before qualifying, the Uno Racing Team drivers maintained a strong lead in the class, consistently setting new team speed records. By now, the team had accumulated extensive track data prior to qualifying, and the drivers were in increasingly strong form, demonstrating strong momentum.

Qualifying for the Shanghai 8 Hours Endurance Race officially began on the afternoon of October 7th. According to the rules, qualifying is divided into four sessions, with each driver completing one. Each team's best times from the three sessions are combined to determine their qualifying score, which will determine their starting position for the race. With each qualifying session limited to 15 minutes, drivers must navigate complex traffic conditions and set their personal bests within a tight window. This also requires consistent performance and balanced strength to achieve a successful qualifying result.

Returning to endurance racing after over a year, Pan Junlin spearheaded the No. 85 car and took the lead in the first qualifying session. He quickly demonstrated his adaptability upon entering the race, setting a lap time of 2:01.763 and securing second place in his class. The veteran driver then accelerated further, finishing in the top three with a time of 2:01.537. On the next lap, he even improved to 2:01.238, securing second place overall and in the GT3 PA class.

EVISU's exclusively signed driver, Wang Yibo, took the field in the second qualifying session and quickly secured second place in his class with a time of 2:04.326. The qualifying session was challenging and treacherous, but Wang Yibo, participating in his endurance race debut, bravely navigated the challenging conditions and ultimately finished fourth in his class.

Professional driver Rio took control of the No. 85 car in the third qualifying session. This session featured a number of top Chinese and international professional drivers, putting Rio in direct competition with a diverse field. After taking the field, he was impacted by the car ahead, losing a valuable sprint window. However, Rio quickly recovered and set a 2:00.398 on the next lap, moving up to fourth overall and third in the GT3 PA class.

Brazilian driver Sérgio Sette Câmara fired up the grid in the fourth qualifying session. This internationally renowned gold-rated driver made his GT debut at the Shanghai Auto Show this weekend. While limited pre-race practice sessions meant he didn't have enough time to acclimate the car or mileage on the new tires, he actively adjusted the car and tires after the start. He then set a personal best of 2:00.117 in a multi-lap sprint, securing second place overall in the session and in the GT3 PA class.

Combining the qualifying results of car #85, Pan Junlin, Wang Yibo, Rio, and Sérgio Sette Câmara ultimately secured second place overall and in the GT3 PA class, securing a strong start to the arduous eight-hour race.

The Shanghai 8 Hours Endurance Race will take place on October 8th, the final day of the National Day Golden Week. The Uno Racing Team is about to face the grueling test of an 8-hour race. We look forward to the No. 85 team forging ahead and achieving another strong result!
