Seven teams will field eight second-generation Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II cars and one GT4 car in the second round of the China GT Championship held at the Shanghai International Circuit from May 15 to 18, competing in three categories in two categories.
"It's great to see the China GT Championship come alive again, with 26 GT cars in the field, nine of which are driven by Audi customers," said Alexander Blackie, Head of Audi Sport Customer Racing Asia. "I wish them all the best of luck in the upcoming weekend at the Shanghai International Circuit."
Chen Yechong and Rio will once again represent the Uno Racing team, and after scoring double-digit points in both races in the opening round, they will continue to challenge for the Pro-Am category annual championship title. Level Motorsports’ Zhuang Jishun and Zhang Boshang will also join the Pro-Am class in the second round. Zhang Boshang won the TCR Asia Challenge this season in an Audi RS 3 LMS and has also won the GT4 class at the Macau Grand Prix.
With the group victory in the second race of the season-opening round, the 610 Racing team's Pan Deng and Yang Xiaowei lead the GT3 Am group standings with a 2-point advantage into the second round. The pair will return to Shanghai to continue their challenge for the annual championship title. 610 Racing's other second-generation Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II will be driven by Lu Wenlong and Yang Baijie. The 24-year-old Lu has participated in single-seater formula racing events and won a single-brand championship. Yang Baijie won the China Endurance Championship. This time, the two will compete in the Pro-Am category.
Winhere Harmony Racing will send a Pro team to compete. Among them, Deng Yi won two consecutive races in the GT Sprint Series in his first GT3 class in 2023, and has continued to show strong strength since then. He will partner with Luo Kailuo, who has performed well in the field of Asian Youth Single-Seater Formula Racing.
Origine Motorsport's Gu Meng and Min Heng team won two podiums in the first round and are currently only two points behind Pan Deng and Yang Xiaowei in the GT3 Am standings. The two will join hands again in the second round and will go all out to win.
Hehehe Racing by 33R HAR team's Zhou Tianji will partner with Zhen Mingwei to compete in the Am category. Jiang Nan and Yang Haojie will also make their debut in the China GT China Supercar Championship, and they will represent the 33R Harmony Racing team to compete in the GT3 Am category.

As China's leading GT series enters its second of four races, the Audi line-up has a major opportunity. Customer drivers will not only be striving to advance in the five-class standings of the series, but also to accumulate crucial points for the season-long Audi Sport Asia Cup.
One hour of free practice will take place on Friday, May 16, followed by two 15-minute qualifying sessions on Saturday. The first race of 55 minutes plus one lap will start at 16:50 that afternoon, and the second race will start at 13:40 on Sunday (all times are UTC+8).
