2025 China Endurance Championship (CEC) National Cup 1600T Technical Regulations V2
News & Announcements China May 16
"2025 CEC National Cup 1600T Technical Rules V2" covers core contents such as group definition, vehicle requirements, modification restrictions, safety specifications and technical standards of various systems:
I. Group definition and vehicle registration
- Prototype vehicle requirements
-
The prototype vehicle must be a mass-produced passenger car with a production volume of ≥2,500 within 12 consecutive months.
-
The 1600T group includes models with a displacement of ≤1,600T, which must be authorized by domestic and foreign companies.
- Registration requirements
- The specific process is not clear, but it emphasizes that the participating vehicles must comply with the rules and pass the review.
II. Basic requirements for participating vehicles
- Structural restrictions
-
At least a driver's door and a co-pilot's door must be equipped, and formula, non-hardtop vehicles, assembled steel frame vehicles and central steering wheel vehicles are prohibited (unless approved by the organizing committee).
-
Four-wheel only, front-wheel steering, unlimited drive form, only single internal combustion engine power is allowed.
- Compliance Responsibilities
- Teams/individuals must ensure that the vehicle complies with the "2018 Domestic Automobile Competition Production Vehicle Safety Modification Rules" and these technical regulations.
III. Modification and Accessories Restrictions
- General Principles
- All modifications not explicitly permitted are prohibited, and permitted modifications must not lead to unauthorized modifications.
- Bolts, nuts, etc. can be replaced with parts of the same material, diameter and thread, and additional locking devices are allowed.
- Key Modification Items
- Engine Assembly: It is allowed to replace the commercially available assembly, but the air restrictor required by the group must be used, and the original vehicle firewall must not be changed.
- Body Material: Changes to the material of body parts to achieve the minimum vehicle weight must be approved.
Fourth, vehicle weight and counterweight
Drive type | Minimum weight (non-sequential gearbox) | Minimum weight (sequential gearbox) |
---|---|---|
Front-wheel drive | 1050 kg | 1080 kg |
Rear-wheel drive | 1080 kg | 1110 kg |
Four-wheel drive | 1110 kg | 1140 kg |
- The counterweight must be fixed to the bottom of the cockpit or luggage compartment, using ≥4 8.8-grade bolts (diameter ≥10mm), with a contact area ≥40cm², and the lead seal can be observed.
Five, safety regulations
- General safety
- Must comply with the "2018 Domestic Automobile Competition Production Model Safety Modification Rules", covering roll cages, fire extinguishers, seat belts, etc.
- Special requirements
- Seat: Need to be replaced with FIA certified seats (8855-1999 or 8862-2009 standards), the mounting bracket needs to be ≥3mm steel plate or ≥5mm aluminum alloy plate.
- Seat belt: Must comply with FIA 8853-2016, equipped with a lock release system.
- Protective net: Need to be woven with ≥19mm wide belt, mesh 25×25mm~60×60mm, fixed to the roll cage, with a one-hand release function.
Six, engine technical rules
- Basic parameters
- Prototype displacement ≤1600cc, must be supercharged, number of cylinders ≤4, no limit on displacement after modification.
- Ignition system is not limited, speed ≤7500 rpm, ECU needs to open the recording module for inspection.
- Key systems
- Intake and fuel: Air restrictor must be installed (position ≤150mm from turbine blade), number/position of fuel injectors must be consistent with original factory, single throttle is allowed.
- Cooling and lubrication: Dry oil pan is prohibited, oil-gas separation device ≥1L must be installed, oil filter must be working.
- Material restrictions: Titanium, magnesium, ceramic and other materials are prohibited, only glass fiber and carbon fiber (single layer) are allowed for specific parts.
VII. Transmission and suspension system
- Transmission
- Manual/original automatic transmission is allowed, sequential transmission (≤6 forward gears) can be used, traction control system is prohibited.
- Clutch and differential
- Clutch plates ≤2, friction plate outer diameter ≥183mm, carbon material is prohibited; differential must be mechanical.
- Suspension and steering
- Modification is not limited, but the original steering gear position must be retained, and the installation of surrounds is allowed. The fenders must cover the upper part of the wheel.
Eight, wheels, tires and brakes
- Wheels and tires
- The wheels must be a metal monolithic structure, with a maximum of 17 inches × 9J, and 5 screws per wheel; spare tires and air pressure adjustment systems are prohibited.
- Brake system
- Brake parts are not limited, the ABS system must be removed, front and rear brake pressure distribution adjustment is allowed, and the brake lines must comply with safety regulations.
Ninth, body and electronic system
- Body modification
- Maximum width 1920mm, the installation of surrounds/rear wings is allowed (rear wing height ≤ roof, width ≤ body), spoilers are prohibited; polycarbonate (thickness ≥ 3.85mm) can be used for windows.
- Electronic system
- The wiring harness must be flame retardant, the battery must be securely fixed, and charging devices other than the engine are prohibited; only the team and the driver are allowed to communicate on the radio, and real-time data transmission is prohibited.
Ten, other rules
- Ground clearance: When there is no driver and the tire pressure is 1.6bar, the minimum is ≥80mm.
- Fuel supply system: FT3/FT5 safety fuel tanks are allowed, and leak-proof fast refueling interfaces must be installed. Modification of the original fuel tank position is prohibited.
- Prohibitions: It is prohibited to use ice cubes/dry ice for cooling (except for personal cooling by the driver), and remote control data transmission is prohibited (except for timing pulse transmitters).
The above content fully covers the technical specifications and safety requirements of the 1600T group racing car to ensure the fairness and safety of the event.
